“Achieving peaceful dispute settlement in Crimea”

Crimea is a conflicted city in Ukraine. It has a lot of natural resources and potential. So many problems in this area, so it needs to be resolve and de-escalate. Actually, Crimea is a long story problem. It is about the border between Ukrania and Russia. In 1992, the Crimea constitution had given the region independence within Ukraine, but eventually, that status had changed and Crimea had been reduced to an autonomous republic, he continued.  Crimeans had openly shown their sympathy for the Russian Federation, and the deep political crisis in Ukraine, provoked by “adventurous actions”. Based on the fact, Crimea is located in eastern Ukraine where the citizens still speak Russian. As the representative of European Union, this problem needs to be resolved as fast as it can be. Recently, the European economics are unbalance because of this problem. And the current market shares are unstable. This ‘cold war’ is now between U.S and Russia. As U.S. feel threaten because of this Crimea Crisis, so there should be a General Assembly between U.S, Russia, and EU. We can see that so many people are outraged because of this crisis. As the ambassador of EU, we could have a diplomatic effort to regain back the stablization of the citizens in Ukraine. It urged all parties immediately to pursue a peaceful resolution of the situation through direct political dialogue, to exercise restraint, and to refrain from unilateral actions and inflammatory rhetoric that could raise tensions. We can make some agreement around  here. As the solution, Russia should move back those 40.000 troops in Crimea and begin the direct negotiations with Ukranian government. With the withdrawing of the troops, Russia may continue to establish their naval facilities in Crimea but they don’t have rights to bother the Crimeans. E.U and IMF should help the Ukraine’s financial by giving the lending to its government to help Ukraine develops its country again. There will be no political contagion from U.S and Russia, there must be a public referendum towards the future of Crimea and all the necessary legislative decisions on the results of the referendum will be taken as soon as possible.

ACHIEVING HUMAN RIGHTS THROUGH POLICIES OF THE UNITED NATIONS




Human rights are the basis for achieving the Millenium Development Goals in 2015. By incorporating human rights principles into Policies of United build Nations, this is will be more likely “keeping the promise” and promote everything about human rights sustainability. Human rights establish universally accepted legal guarantees to protect the freedom and equality of individual.We can see that thousands of individuals and citizen groups around the world are fighting for their rights and freedoms. United Nation action for human rights continues. This is really urgent to heightened the sense for respect of human rights. Yet millions people around the world suffer some serious violation or deprivation of their basic rights and freedom. United Nation have to declare the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to increase the involvement in the defense of human rights which can help to build an environment where freedom and dignity are expected and respected. UN are the crucial entry points and vehicle for this implementation of this plan to enhanced complementary and effectiveness of human rights. United Nation can build such an institution in country level to promote and protect the freedom of people which can make such a good development. Policies from UN need monitoring progress, adjusting, and implementation to all of world’s citizen. Effective world human rights protection systems require public policies guided by human rights principles and norms and designed to ensure enjoyment of human rights by all people. We know that there’s cooperation between the UNDG, ECHA, and OHCHR to make a good integration program on making the policies, but to know the problem and the existing condition in each country’s human right, so there must be a methodological tools, educational services and publication regarding to the policies itself. In order to achieve the policies, we need a plan of action to know the mechanism of the policies, it is important to the UN for making a policies that really have a good approaching to the citizen and reducing the mainstreaming of unimportant policies. Building the strong policies in UN can make a good innovation in achieving the human rights, because since the Magna Charta charter had been published and known in every people in the world, it can be a milestone or benchmark to create a sustainable world and reducing the violation, nuclear war, civil war or any kind of human rights restriction.

The Influences and Importances of Multilingual Ability in Creating the Global Citizenship in Central Java

Introduction
The world now is on going to be an enormous world with the growth of globalization and technology.  As we see in this 20th century, every countries,  government, citizen, and also every individual work on creating the better world with borderless, due to the growth of economics and social.  Now, we are reaching the most beneficial phase, the global citizenship. Actually, the idea of global, or world, citizenship is a very old one, but it has recently come back into fashion. The first time we actually feel the concept the global citizenship was during the industrial revolution in England, but its origins can be traced back to at least 4th century Greece when Diogenes declared himself a cosmopolitan ‘a citizen of the world. At the time, the earth’s shape, the configuration of the vast majority of its surface, and even the existence of its varied peoples and cultures, would have been largely unknown to him or anyone. To avoid a possible source of confusion right away, it is not equivalent to the idea of global, or world, government. If some form of global government were to be created, then perhaps it would have global citizens to go with it. But enthusiasm for global citizenship reaches far beyond support for world government, whose feasibility problems and practical limitations are widely recognized Global Citizenship are the processes that foster knowledge, skills and attitudes which promote justice and equality in a multicultural society and interdependent world. To be a global citizen, one is knowledgeable of peoples, customs and cultures in regions of the world beyond one's own; understands the interdependence that holds both promise and peril for the future of the global community; and is committed to combining one’s learning with a dedication to foster a livable, sustainable world (Back, 2008).
            . Sometimes, the global citizenship is related with the political and social life in a country, but it is far beyond that. The global citizenship has a wide meaning and implication to every people in the world. Arguably, the global citizenship’s aim is to create and engage people, especially the young generation who still have the open minded and great vision. It it the time to develop the competencies and actively engage to the world. And it is also related about the way we thinking and behaving to make a sustainability within every citizens. Yet the most important and also the problem to reach the global citizenship is the language. So that’s mean it is really related with the education, because reaching the global citizenship is same like internationalization. We can see there are so many practice of Global Citizenship in every countries, such as issuing about the global environment and learning about the cultural differences. Assuming that every citizens have their connection in every people around the world with the social media. We have so many languages in this world, but there are languages that really important to be learned to face the reality of this world when we go to somewhere place. In every single education, we are given a foreign language to foster our global mindset which will make a path to reaching the global citizenship. Language allows us a window into a different part of the world, a new culture and lifestyle. It creates no barrier between two persons who communicate each other, yet we still have to learn about others if the language is different. While learning vocabulary and grammar enables one to listen and speak, true understanding takes personal involvement; it challenges the “lens” one sees through and how one makes sense of the world. The ability to understand a foreign language gives individuals the opportunity to discover the how and why of actions or behavior; in this sense language helps to reduce prejudices, misconceptions and misunderstandings of intent. The global citizenship requires the prominent skill of fluency in languages in each people. Let’s take an example of United Nations, this organization has six official language and it can be spoken in any meeting or appointment during the conference.

Analysis
             Indonesia has more than 17.000 islands and also more than 200 tribes and cultures. In the context of Indonesia, as a university student of Urban and Regional Planning Engineering Department in Diponegoro University which located in Central Java Province, in my opinion the global citizenship is still a concept which can be called as a milestone to develop the students in every faculty, yet it is still far from the aim as the concepts of globalization, but we still try to deliver the concept through the international learning, developing cultural knowledge, and also from the international organization. In this case, It is important for students to develop skills in accessing and understanding information on culture and in applying that knowledge for the purposes of interaction and communication. It is one of reaching the global citizenship. The national tagline of Indonesia is “Unity in Diversity”, but the problem is we are still lack in collaborating the cultures to be as one. After that, Indonesians are still lack of awareness to learn the second language, which is english, the most common one in every education institutions. Indonesian government already gave their efforts to increase the global knowledge of its citizens by giving the english lesson. As i have been seen in the university, consequently, those who learn a foreign language will become more dynamic and improve their problem-solving abilities. As a result, students who are bilingual (or multilingual) perform better at the university and have a tendency to develop a higher level of intellect in comparison to their peers. In every academic institutions in Central Java, English is chosen as the means of communication among people beside France, Germany, or Chinese language. English is also be as the basic language in our lecture’s books. The current globalization and internalisation processes have led to a tremendous expansion of the English language in Indonesia, now in every regencies or even districts, governments are developing and conveying to the citizens about the culture of speaking English as the second language, for example, mayor of Bandung city made a concept that in every Tuesday, the citizens of Bandung should speak English. He added that english proficiency is highly regarded as one of the individual’s fundamental skills and it’s also a key to open the global network for each persons. With the 240 million population in Indonesia, the main problem of educating the people to learn about second language, which is very stressed in English language is the socialization. Yet we still have the other important problems, such as natural disasters, economic problems, lack of the job opportunities, and the most important one is more than 35% of Indonesians are lack of education. Mostly, Indonesians are proposed by the government to reach the 12 years of study in every level of education, but after that, there is lack of responsibility from the government to make sure that Indonesian Citizens are worth it to continue to the next level of education. In the cultural side, as the person who live in Central Java which has many cultures, there are many people who choose to go for a work rather than study. They prefer it because it can make them to earn more money to continue their life, for education, they only rely on the hands of government, citizens are lack of motivation and sometimes, the culture hold a barrier between the education and working. As a students, i joined an international organizations. The organization is AIESEC. This organizations has been widely known in more than 100 countries. One of the aim of this organization is to engage and enable young people to develop and discover themselves through the community development program. It has a big impact in developing people to learn about foreign language through the foreigners which are invited by AIESEC in Semarang and be as the members of learning groups. They enable the peoples who are still stuck in education and cultures to learn about the cultures of the foreigners and to make them apply it in their life.

The main reason why people in Central Java Province is difficult to learn about the english language is they don’t have any big desires to learn, they are less confident to use them in a natural communication situation due to lack of opportunity. Based on the fact, only the person who get the higher education will understand about the ideas of global citizenship, the rest of them who didn’t get the high education will only accept what the government  has planned without any further step or innovation. That’s the problem in the Indonesia, especially Central Java, which has the second biggest population in Java Island, the culture has a big role in improving or decreasing their own value mark about global citizenship. As we are still in traditional living which are more adaptable, many Indonesians are not willingly to think about the Global Citizenship idea, because living with traditional culture living will give more happiness and prosperous rather than joining the concept of global citizenship.
             
Conclusion
            The new idea of Global Citizenship is worth to implemented in the world, since we are embracing
and growing in every important sides, like social, political, economic, and global network. We need it to make a new world which is ‘borderless’ by understanding every people, accept the differences and be corporate. Actually, the ideas of global citizenship can be applied firmly in Indonesia, but it needs more time, cause the ideas mostly known only by students or the person who has higher education. In Central Java, the people still holding on to the traditional living and mindset. The thing they only know is avoiding the foreign cultures by giving the learning of traditional cultures to their youngsters. As the globalization reach the villages, it’s difficult for them to protect their own cultures, since their youngsters are growing to be a better person. Students in university in Central Java have a higher chance to keep the ideas of global citizenship by learning the multilingual ability. This is the ‘must do’ process. Why? Because they will challenge themselves into the global network and job opportunities. Having the multilingual ability gives us a path to take us one step closer to our dream and be the part of new world. Since i know that every books in university are written in English, it is very important to learn the language, eventhough it’s difficult to learn for some persons. But in the end,  it will create an awareness of the world and we have our senses to be as the world citizen. There are a lot of learning process that can be implemented in every citizens to know about global citizenship, we have to make the comprehensible approachment to develop the mindset of citizens who still have lack of knowledge in knowing the global citizenship. The role of students is really needed like make the community group which focusing on global issues and they have to involve citizens to participate in it by inviting the foreigners to talk about the recent issues in their countries and deliver it with english, so the citizens will eager to learn about the foreigners’ language, like English and they also improving their knowledge about the global issues and it will be a cornerstone to be the global citizens, because the best way to get into the culture of people in Central Java Province is by the comprehensible approachment.

Indonesia and Its Energy Problem


Indonesia is a country which has five big islands with various energy consumption in each islands. Time after time, with the highly increasing of the populations, Indonesia now facing the problems which is related with the sustainable energy and the skyrocketing demand of energy. Energy is an important engine of economic growth, on which both poverty reduction and shared prosperity depend. Most economic activity would be impossible without energy, but for a long time, Indonesia has a really big reliance on dirty and subsidised fossil fuels, it is used by households, industrials, and many more. The energy mixes in Indonesia based on five main resources; these are crude oil, natural gas, coal, hydropower, and renewable energy. Although the country encourages utilizing renewable energy, the contribution is only around 3%. Indonesia today consumes about 500 million barrels of oil every year with and annual increase of 10 million barrels. Indonesia now holds 39 per cent of oil for energy supply, but as we know, oil is not a renewable energy resources. If Indonesia continues to use the big numbers of oil without any alternative enery resources, in the next few years, Indonesia will be completely dependent on importing of its energy needs. (Subianto, 2011) At the present, the main factor of high consumption of energy in Indonesia is the explosion of population, within 20 years, the number of population in Indonesia has increased from 170 million in early 1980’s to 240 million now. According to the Green Policy Paper released by the Finance Ministry, total energy demand in Indonesia is growing by around 7 per cent per year. It continues to increase since the number of population growth significantly.

More than 50% of Indonesians have their own vehicle, this is really a big problem. Only a few of Indonesians use the public transportation to go to other place. Why this could be happened? It is regarding to the time efficiency, most of Indonesian think that by using their own vehicle, it will make them faster to go somewhere, but critically it will make the higher consumption of fuel. In order to make a sustainable enery for Indonesians, government have given the solution to make a subsidies energy to the poor households, but in other side, many reports and research has shown that the subsidies discourage the development of alternative or renewable energy sources. Related to the sustainable energy, actually Indonesia has so many potential renewable energy resources such as geothermal, wind, energy, and biomass. As we make the transition to other sources of supply, we need to make sure that we do not squander our past investment in fossil fuel infrastructures.

Although Indonesia possesses a variety of renewable energy resources, including geothermal, solar, micro-hydro, wind and bio-energy, but it is not balance with the system of the government in Indonesia and the mindset of Indonesians. The problem is there is no policy framework that explained about the roles of  local government and central governments related to the understanding the implications of pursuing the renewable energy. Indonesia has a decentralized system which allowed the local government to have a right for controlling their own energy resources, but the obstacle is the local governments don’t have a good framework to handle this. So there is a need for changes the government policy. After that, In the real fact, Indonesians are still rely on the fossil energy, for somehow, the renewable energy doesn’t always work, like sun doesn’t shine every day, wind doesnt blow hard everyday, and many more. That’s why Indonesians still think that fossil energy is better and can be used everyday. Indonesians need adequate, reliable, and competitively priced modern energy which is very essential for business development, job creation, income generation, and international competitiveness, after that government should Improving the quality of life for Indonesians by ensuring access to energy services.


Then, governments with the citizens have to make some collaboration to make steady progress in the development and introduction of cleaner fossil fuel resources and generation technologies; renewable energy resources and generation technologies; and more efficient end-use technologies.Beside that, there should be an approachment, like efficiency-oriented approach which can directs us to look for ways to reduce environmental impacts and improve efficiency along the entire energy “supply-chain.”  The other solution is make coordinating long-term sustainable energy development. It is very useful for controlling the energy from the private sectors. More broadly, making the transition to a more diversified (and hopefully more sustainable) energy system will require continuous improvements in both technologies and management systems. Such programs need not be cost prohibitive however, since without such initiatives many developing countries, such as Indonesia would need to import greater amounts of fuel, and develop a larger, less efficient energy infrastructure. Different energy technologies and management systems will be required by country and region, depending upon available local resources, skills, and initial economic, environmental and social conditions. There is also need of improving the public transportation, the natural gasses, technology, and management to make sure that Indonesia has the efficiency, reliabolity, and sustainability of energy. The development and deployment of new energy sources and efficient technologies is clearly a key element in the transition to a sustainable energy infrastructure.

INTRODUCTION / INTRODUCCIÓN

Let me introduce my self and a little bit story of my Life here!

So every stories will always begin with...
ONCE UPON A TIME....

There was a boy born from a marriage between a great father and lovely mother. It took only 2 or 3 years for me to show my self up to the world! HAHAHA.....

My name is Boni Kasih Napitupulu. An awesome boy who was born in February,  23rd 1993. I am the first from four children in the Napitupulu’s Family. So actually my real-first name is Boni Frengky Yoel Napitupulu. Yap, my parents gave me that name. But, my grandmother wasn’t agree with my parents, i didn’t know exactly why K . So she took over my name and changed it to Boni Kasih Napitupulu.
Boni in Batak Language means ‘Bibit’
Kasih means Kasih :p (Indonesian Language)
So, Boni Kasih means a little seed who can grow up and gives love to everyone.. 

Is it cool? Yess of course... :D

So what else? Emmm... Oh yaa. Since i am the first child, so my father ‘forced’ me to learn english since i was 5 years old.. Ah i hate that very much... He insisted, “I can go overseas and work there even just 6 months because of English, so you should learn english if you want to get a better job and go overseas” , and i answered “I want to play outside that, i will learn it in the evening, Bye!” .. Then i just flew away and played with my friends.. Was it cruel? No, cause i kept my promise and learned english in the evening, even it just last for an hour.. hahaha. Sorry dad!

By the times i grew older, i still keep learn english language.. My father told me that i am the only children who have passion in learning english. Yes i found it trully. His second child loves calculating, like maths , while his third child, his daughter, still in tracing her passion, and his little daughter, the fourth child loves drawing very much 

I live in Batam island, a city and also an island which surrounded by sea and little islands. But now , i study in Semarang, the capital city of Central Java. Quite nice city, friendly people, and so many congestions K . I am a student of Diponegoro University batch 2011, majoring Department of Urban and Regional Planning Engineering. Not a sophomore anymore, cause i am in the third year now..

I love playing guitar, an enthusiast person in English debate, the INFLUENCER, not a ‘conventional’ person, love to learn and improve my english language, and now i’m learning spanish language.. Hola!! .

My goal reach arebe the next Foreign minister of Indonesia, another one is be the next Mayor of Batam City :D
